Overview
NewDue came from the idea that if you could help people figure out a way to pay their bills on time, you might be able to keep them from going into debt. From that, a product manager found in user interviews that the main problem for consumers was the timing of the bill—that is, that their bill was coming 3 days before their paycheck, not after.
Working with an engineer, we built NewDue as a way for users to easily and quickly change their bill's due date, without having to call customer service or get put on hold. An easy interface allowed them to pick their bills, pick their desired due date, and make the changes, giving them the freedom to choose the day that worked best for them.
